Australian Embassy celebrates at Rugby World Cup Fanzone

The Australian Embassy Tokyo celebrated the Wallabies Rugby World Cup (RWC) match against Uruguay on 5 October with a special AUS+RALLY sports diplomacy tent at the JR Yurakucho Fanzone. The Embassy was invited to participate by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as part of its celebrations of RWC participating countries.

The AUS+RALLY tent attracted a lot of interest from new Japanese friends, drawn by the high-quality South Australian wines and eye-catching Western Australian wild flowers.

AUS+RALLY-themed flags, face paint stickers, clip-on koalas, balloons had nearly gone even before the Wallabies’ match kicked off.

Visitors also made use of photo opportunities with the Wallabies RWC Indigenous jersey, rugby balls, Wally mascot as well as large kangaroo and koala panels.

Thanks for helping to celebrate the Wallabies and keep supporting Australian teams in Japan!
